SEE & DO
THINGS TO DO
Hiking
El Valle has the most beautiful hiking trails with all levels of difficulty. From La India Dormida (the most popular hike) to Cerro Gaital you will be sure to enjoy a peaceful hike through a rainforest paradise. Don't be surprised if you are greeted by the songs of parrots and toucans.
Waterfalls
El Valle is a waterfall hotspot. Some of the largest waterfalls in the region can be found here, and who doesn't want to take a refreshing dip in a natural swimming hole or under an invigorating downfall of natural spring water.
Thermal Springs
A calm and leafy setting surrounds these rustic thermal baths. A relaxing way to spend the afternoon after a hike. Use the natural mud to give yourself a facial and then swim in the pool of natural warm spring water. You can buy tubs of volcanic mud to bring home with you.
Zip Lining
A must do during your visit to El Valle!  In the middle of the exotic rainforest you will find the first of four ziplines. This experience is exhilarating and you will get to zip by Chorro el Macho, the largest waterfall in the region.
Butterfly Haven, Zoo, Serpentarium
Great for the kids and nature and animal lovers! The Butterfly Haven is home to Panama's most exotic and beautiful butterflies.
The zoo is situated on the same road as Casa del Alma. The Nispero zoo became a zoo by chance when the owner, an agronomist, began taking in abandoned and sick animals. The tour of all the different species of animals takes about an hour.
El Valles serpentarium is home to over  20  species of slithery serpents. It became open to the public 15 years ago and acts as a research center for snakes. Open 7 days a week!
Local Market
El Valle is known for its fresh produce. With plenty of  local farms in the area you will be sure to find all of your favorite fruits and vegetables as well as some local exotic fruits that will be new to your palate.
Open 7 days a week, this open air market also offers a great selection of local hand made artisan crafts, paintings, sombreros etc. The indigenous people come in from the surrounding mountains to sell their handmade creations.

FAQ's

Do you need a Visa to visit Panama?

A passport is required for foreigners visiting Panama. If you currently hold one, make sure it is valid at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Any person of nationality who requires a visa to enter the Republic of Panama, who has a valid Visa or Residence, duly issued by Canada, the United States of America, the Commonwealth of Australia, the Republic of Korea, the State of Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Republic of Singapore and any of the States that make up the European Union, may enter the national territory.  Panamanian law requires that you carry photo I.D. with you at all times. Is Panama safe?

Panama has been considered by many as one of the safest countries in Latin America. This applies for most of the country. However, like is expected in any large cities, like the capital of Panama, there are certain neighborhoods where you shouldn´t venture on your own. Overall crime rate here is low and it is mostly limited to pick-pocketing. At any rate, common sense is encouraged. You should leave home flashy jewelry, avoid carrying more cash on you than what you might need for some craft or souvenir shopping. Panama also has no recorded history of natural disasters, that is why the Canal was built here!
